Didgeroo has been working on a number of projects with London Bridge-based design agency, To The Point.
One of our joint projects, Palazzo Dorottya, recently won an award for best residential development website*.
To The Point beautifully crafted the branding and design while Didgeroo coded the web site.
Palazzo Dorottya is a new luxury apartment complex built in a restored historic building located in the heart of Budapest. To The Point created a design and typographic treatment that cleverly reflects the building’s juxtaposed classic and modern characteristics.
Didgeroo built the website on the WordPress CMS platform and created a number of custom plugins to support some special features including:
- Custom Google Map – utilises the Google Maps API to create a custom map with POIs defined using custom post types. Javascript was used to dynamically update the map based upon filters without refreshing the page.
- Image gallery – a visually stunning flash slideshow that falls back to a HTML5 touch based interface for use with iOS/Android devices.
- Apartment search facility – built using custom post types in WordPress. To maintain simple site structure, this is all presented on a single page, with high-resolution, zoomable floorplans opening into a lightbox overlay for each selected apartment. JQuery was used to display the floorplans to ensure mobile compatibility.
In a glittering ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel in Warsaw, Poland on 17 April, we were crowned winners of the Construction and Investment Journal (CIJ) Residential Awards 2012 Best Residential Development Website award for the innovative and stylish website that we created for Palazzo Dorottya.
