This required building a massive database to constantly import and process twitter traffic using the Twitter API.
Amazon EC2 was considered however cost was expensive and performance was poor. So instead Didgeroo built and supplied a dedicated server with a Quad-Core Xeon CPU, 8GB RAM and 500GB HDD and 4TB/mth bandwidth for £700/yr. This works out substantially cheaper than Amazon and the performance is blisteringly fast.
